Opening Day on the Hiawatha Line

2003 Saint Paul Winter Carnival

Once a year, the good folks of Saint Paul put on their snazziest hats and mittens and open up the city to King Boreas and his frost-bitten court. Pictures are of the Grande Day Parade and the ice-sculpting competition held in Rice Park.

A few pictures of the Lowertown, Riverfront, and Indian Mounds Park regions of Saint Paul in winter. Indian Mounds Park is famous for burial mounds constructed by the Dakota along the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River.
